Yield: 300ml (1 Cup) Prep Time: 5 minutes Total Time: 10 minutes

Ingredients

  • 230 g (1 Cup) Water

  • 220 g (1 Cup) Granulated Sugar

  • 125 g (1 Cup) Fresh Blueberries

Recipe

  1. Combine all of the ingredients in a medium saucepan. Place over medium heat.

  2. As it heats up, mash the blueberries with a wire masher or any utensil that will squish them.

  3. Bring the mixture to a simmer. Lower to medium-low heat and continue to let it simmer for 5 minutes. Occasionally stirring.

  4. Remove from the heat. Setup a sieve either over a bowl or over a funnel that goes into a heat-proof container (pictured). Pour the syrup through the sieve to remove the berry chunks. If using a bowl, pour syrup into your container.

Serving: Let cool to room temperature with the container lid off before serving. Best served chilled.

Storage: Store in a sealed container in the fridge for 3 to 4 weeks. (My preferred storage is in a glass syrup bottle with a pour spout.)

Pairing: Best paired with an iced latte or a blueberry cocktail.
