Peach Simple Syrup
A bright, fruity syrup perfect for sweetening iced tea, lemonade, coffee, or drizzling over pancakes and desserts. Using fresh ripe peaches, this recipe captures the essence of summer in a bottle.
Ingredients
| Ingredient | Imperial | Metric |
|---|---|---|
| Ripe Peaches (cubed) | 2 Cups | 300 g |
| Granulated White Sugar | 1 Cup | 200 g |
| Water | 1 Cup | 240 mL |
Recipe
Cube the peaches. Place in a medium saucepan with the sugar and water. Stir to combine.
Set over medium-high heat and bring to a boil, stirring occasionally until the sugar dissolves.
Once boiling — Reduce heat to low and simmer for about 5-7 minutes, or until the peaches are very soft and the syrup is starting to thicken.
Pour the mixture through a fine-mesh sieve into a heatproof container, pressing lightly on the peaches to extract extra syrup.
Leave uncovered until cooled to room temperature.
🍽️ Serving: Enjoy immediately or save it for later. Pairs well with iced tea.
❄️ Storage: Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 1 month. Freeze in a sealed container for up to 6 months then thaw in the fridge before use.
